A Step Up

We have settled into Fort Yamhill State Heritage Site once again. We were here in 2013, and 2014 also. This park is about 20 miles west of Salem on highway 22 in the Grand Ronde valley. Once again Dr Dave Brauner and his archeology students from Oregon State University will be here looking for the history of this place.

This year we will not be able to take folks on a visit to the site. It is in a remote and rugged spot. Which brings us to the subject of today’s mystery title. You see the students needed a “necessary,” to couch it in the jargon of the 1860’s. Ranger Matt was able to find a concealed spot barely within the reach of the service truck and still reasonably close to the digs. The problem was the slope. By the time he got it leveled the step up to get into the Port-a-Potty was somewhat a challenge.

Two Day, Two Step, Loo Step

Now Judy and I get into the picture. We designed and built a two step landing to place in front of the Loo inside of two days. I guess that would make it the “Two day, two step, Loo step.”

If you can make it, drop in this July. Mondays and Tuesdays are our days off, but the rest of the time we are sure to be here. We expect to be able to display any new artifacts on Fridays, July 22nd and 29th.
