20171027 The Other Hand

After reading some of your posts, it dawned on me that I tend to only write about the cat-as-trophies. So today I will write an up-beat blog.
First I treasure all of my friends. Thank you for your comments. Second, this is a great way to chronicle my life and our travels. Nothing is more boring as “Got up at 6 am. On the road by 10:30. Drove from Blake Ranch RV Park and Horse Hotel in Kingman, AZ to Williams AZ.” Yes I do have that detail tabulated in an Excel spreadsheet. Those that know me well will not find that surprising. Indeed, I can retrieve and playback nearly every mile of our travels over the past 13 years in a program called ”Street Atlas.”

One of my favorite sayings is “I feel a blog coming on” as the situation deteriorates around us. Sometimes it is hard to remember to take photos to illustrate the story that is developing.
The week before this, when we were waiting for the toilet seat that eventually was back-ordered; is a good example. We were dry camping at some friends place in Pahrump, AZ along with a dozen other rigs. Gary and Diana were our hosts and nearly all the guests were musicians. Every day we played Bluegrass and Old Country music together. It was a blast, but I failed to get even a single photo or recording all week. I didn’t… “feel a blog coming on.”
So remember that we are living our life’s adventure as we travel this nations highways and byways. It is a great country and I try to remember that our freedom was bought at a terrible price over the years. I try to honor the flag at every opportunity. I say “thank you for your service to our country,” to every veteran I meet. What a privilege it is to travel from state to state without having to present a passport at each state line. Where we have an orderly transfer of power year after year.
Yes there are a few warts, but this is a great country “from sea to shining sea”
See I told you I do better at writing about the cat-as-trophies.
