2007 in Review

I guess I have been told. My daughter seems to think that I just live to create statistics, and indicated that she was waiting for the 2007 version.

We relocated 125 times in 2007 which is a little more than the 118 times in 2006. Total distance driven was 13,375, bicycled 1,900 and walked 240 miles for a grand total of 15,515 miles in 2007. That works out to 124 miles per move. The big mileage push was our trip to Alaska this summer. That accounted for 6,500 miles in Canada and Alaska. Our most expensive fuel was $4.31 in Watson Lake, Yukon Territory, Canada.

Well enough of that:

I received enthusiastic replies from well over three fourths of you, and I am very flattered with your responses. We have all but three of the addresses sorted out, so if you didn’t reply to my Christmas Letter, please do.

We have been moseying through California for the past few weeks and we are now in Indio at the FMCA rally. After getting parked we were delighted to find that our neighbors are enthusiastic Bluegrass people. It didn’t take long for us to get the instruments out and get a jam session going. Carrol and Coney are from Juneau Alaska so we had lots of Alaska stuff to talk about between songs. We also attracted several neighbors just to listen in. We finally froze out and all departed to our suppers.

We are getting a little tired of this “Sunny California Weather” We have had several days of downpours and today we drove from Palmdale down to San Bernardino through Cajon, and there was snow right down to the road at 4,000 feet. Now if I’d wanted rain and snow, I could have stayed right in Oregon and enjoyed lots of that. Do I have to get hostile and write a letter to the “Terminator” about this?

We have been promised 350 days of sunny warm weather by the Indio Mayor and the Fair Manager, so things should improve directly.

It is Wednesday evening now and we spent time walking and biking about the fairgrounds. Then we spent another whole afternoon with Carrol and Coney jammin’ Bluegrass. It got so warm that I actually got to change into shorts this afternoon.

Well we send love to all and will sign off for now.
