Where in the world are Gary and Judy?

Well at the moment we are cruising the Interstate between Boise and Twin Falls ID. There is not much point in taking the picturesque side roads, the territory looks pretty much the same all over, sagebrush and prairie grass.

After visiting friends and relations in Eastern Washington, we spent the weekend with friends from the Plymouth Church at the Prineville Reservoir State Campground. We ate and ate as all good Presbyterians do and sang songs around the campfire. After a nice campground style church service we hugged everyone in sight and headed East on Sunday afternoon. We got as far as Caldwell Idaho and set up our tent in a private RV Park just off I-84, (yes we listened to truckers all night). Again we find that tenters are lower than “Trailer Trash.” We couldn’t have a RV slot to pitch our tent and have electricity. After some negotiating we managed a spot by the irrigation pump and was able to run an extension cord to our table and keep our refrigerator cold. We were able to get packed up early and underway by 8:00 am, and that was on Mountain Daylight time no less.

Each big city we pass through we stop at the RV sales lot and check out the used Diesel pushers. We are getting fairly specific now. There are only a couple of brands out there that are just old enough to fit our price limits and just new enough to have sliders for lots of room and have the muscle to haul my shop. A quick check in Boise as we passed through once again turned up nothing.

Just ahead is Glenns Ferry Idaho, and the Snake River. We are planning on pausing there and ride the Tandem Bicycle for an hour before we head for the Idaho border. It looks like tonight will be a Motel night. I am unable to find many campgrounds along our intended route today. We have a lead on one RV Park in Snowville UT, just inside the North Utah border.

We will get you all another update in a few days. Until then, remember we are as close as the cell phone, and from here on, the reception should be much better. Eastern Oregon is pretty vacant and there sure aren’t any cell towers.
